Specimen Oaks | Santa Barbara Builder

LUA is the Santa Barbara Builder for this project in Montecito.

When the main oak tree in the entry courtyard of our Montecito foothills project was diagnosed by our arborist to be sick and dying, our client decided to replace it with a large specimen oak tree. Our client also wanted to take the opportunity to plant an additional large oak tree to provide screening between the view from an upper deck and the neighbors home. Both trees were hand selected by our client and Architect for their size, shape and overall character. With heavy lifting provided by Specialty Crane and expert planting by Coldsprings Landscaping both trees were successfully planted. One of the trees was even lifted over the house so that it could be placed into the entry courtyard. We now have two beautiful and healthy oak trees that will enhance the beauty of the property and will be enjoyed by generations to come.

Crews on one of our current projects are providing these hand made plaster details. The linear items will be used for window surrounds and the triangular pieces are used for the "Doric Boss" detail that is shown on the walls of the main gallery below.

Santa Barbara Green Building | Green Building Idea

LUA is always looking for a way to step up our efforts with regard to Santa Barbara Green Building.

When remodeling your home, try to donate what you can to those in need. During a major demolition project or a minor clean up, save materials that could be recycled or reused. This past year, we demolished an older home and as a result we were able to donate doors, windows, appliances, fixtures and more!

At LUA, we encourage all of our clients to donate what they can! During the early stages, we will work along side companies like Habitat for Humanity, to remove these unwanted items and make sure they are recycled or reused.

Santa Barbara Green Builder | Home in Progress

Leonard Unander Associates, Inc. is the Santa Barbara Green Builder constructing this view home on West Mountain Drive in the Montecito area. This home was previously built by LUA, and subsequently lost in Santa Barbara's Tea Fire. The first phone call for these previous clients was to their builder, Leonard Unander.
